Victorian Portraits

This project focuses on celebrated Victorian figures who helped to significantly shape society as we know it today, celebrated in a wide range of disciplines: science, women’s rights, travel and literature to name but a few. With the Victorian Era being a largely oppressive time for many, I felt it was important to give equal recognition to the notable men and women from this period who dedicated their life’s work to improving society through their achievements, a recognition that many women had to fight for during their lifetime.
